Long time no post!

I'd forgotten all about this blog! I was googling our name to see what came up and that's how I found it!
Not sure whether I'll keep it up but it was nice to read through some of the stuff I'd written.
Katherine is off to Uni next month and I'm really going to miss her. Matt starts college and Isobel is going up to the Junior School!
I might upload some more recent pics.
I had to smile at my post 'I'm getting fat' where I complained that I'd gone up to 10 stone 3!! OH MY GOSH!! I wish I was that weight now!! I daren't tell you how much I've gained since then but I'm not happy at all :((

Wow she's in the finals!!

Katherine is in the final of Miss Hinckley - if she gets through this then she'll be entered into the Miss England competition!!

The final is on 24th May and we're really looking forward to it, I'm sure it will be a good night.

The great thing is that Christopher's Fund is sponsoring her so she'll wear a sash saying 'Christopher's Fund' and it will be great publicity!!

The one thing that she would love to win is 'Miss Popularity' so we've asked family and friends to vote as the votes from that count as one judges vote on the night!!

If you'd like to vote for Katherine:
To text vote you must put 'KATHERINE PALK' to 84205 and to phone vote dial 0901 656 1519 and then enter '22' when prompted - don't get that wrong or you'll vote for someone else lol Texts cost 60p plus standard network cost.

Isobel is 5!!

Well it's been a really busy weekend. I've had such a great time - I can't remember the last time I felt so happy!

I changed my shift at work and worked in the morning and finished at 1pm which was lovely. Mum met me for lunch and then we did the shopping for Isobel's party.

I had a really relaxing afternoon and then in the evening Matthew's girlfriend Katie came round and Katherine's friend Beth and the 4 of us went to a 'girls night in' at church which was a fundraising evening.

I had a lovely reflexology treatment and so did Katherine and Katherine and Katie also had a mini manicure.

On the way home we all decided we were hungry so we skipped over the road to the Indian restaurant and had a lovely indian meal and quite a giggle.

Katie slept over night and came to church with us the next morning. The service was brilliant and Katherine sang a solo which was awesome!

Katie then came back to my parents house and we all had a lovely Sunday roast and then it was party time!

We had 12 children up at church and Isobel had a lovely time.

The next day (Monday) was Isobel's birthday and me and the kids went to McDonalds for lunch which was good fun.

We then called to Mum's and my cousin Clare came round with more presents for Isobel. She's had sooo many gifts. She's such a lucky girl!!

I can't believe she's now 5! I'm so happy that she had a lovely birthday but it was hard too because Christopher didn't make it to 5 :o(

Thinking....

It's 8 years today since Christopher underwent his first operation. It lasted 8 hours and was a very anxious day.

Dates always stay in my mind and even though it was several years ago it seems like only last week and I can recall almost all the events of that day and many other days.

I was just sitting here wondering if he would have had the same musical talent as Katherine and Matthew. I was trying to imagine what it would be like if they played together, whether he could sing or play an instrument.

We'll never know the answer to that. Things could have been so very different if only that bloody awful disease hadn't got the better of him.

How I HATE cancer.
